This is how I draw and paint for myself. It's my personsal work and style. Just about everything else I've posted here has been work I've done for Blizzard. I pride myself on being able to paint not just one way, but multiple ways. There's more realistic stuff I've also done for Blizzard that I can't post that would show you that I can hit that end of the spectrum of style too. It's challenging having to do this, but it's a great way to build a good portfolio.
Best part is the giant one in the background and the woman sitting upon his hand.
Honestly, in comparison to the madness happening in the foreground and the seemingly uncaring visages of the the running men with their minds only concerned with one human concerned with one basic human desire, lust. I can only imagine what happens to these woman when these barbarians reach which ever dark secluded place they may be heading.
as compared to the very calm demeanor of the gentle giant and his lady friend. He seems to have a caring look on his face, he is not forcefully holding her against her will (but i suppose that could be debatable) and she seems to be very calm and comfortable sitting cross legged upon his hand.
I would like to know more about these two, and I find myself so fascinated with them.
I like to leave things in a suggested way, so the viewer can digest and come to their own conclusions. To be fair though, I plan to make a series of paintings based on this premise. I figure there's not enough "why?" and storytelling in general in art today.
This image is dripping with awesome! Vikings and Babes is definitely a top art subject on my list! Great work man. If you don't mind me asking how long does it usually take you to compile an image like this?
Let's see, I started painting this a week ago, worked on it on my off hours when not at Blizzard, and...finished this morning. So I can turn one of these around in a week if I want to, though I'll probably take my time after this with more paintings of this ilk.
